Having a Hard Night. Muscle Atrophy.

Hey everybody,

Havent posted on here in a while. Been trying to give it time and hopefully see some progress. I'm coming up on my 6 months of treatment and I'll be writing a post up on that here shortly.

I'm writing tonight because I'm having a hard time and getting pretty down. Honestly, I'm coming to you guys for some hope if there is any.

Quick back story. 10 year vegan with a history of stomach problems prior. More than likely b12d for that entire time. Found out I was b12d this past May with a level of 159. I do not have PA. I was slightly anemic but not that crazy (12.7 hgb, 36.2 hct), had troubled digesting, muscle atrophy (I'm very skinny with little muscle), and my left leg is very weak. Did daily loading dose injections for a few weeks and have been tapering off. I'm taking 100 mcg daily orally and getting a 1000 mcg injection bi weekly.

My anemia is gone but my digestion still sucks (I'm on a very limited diet in terms of variety and if I stay I get backed up), and my left leg (and overall body) is still wasted and weak. I go to the gym 3 times a week and eating larger quantities than I normally do in order to out weight back on but the wasting weakness remains, even after 6 months of daily b12.

I'm nervous. I've read studies where people bounce back with their muscle in less time than 6 months. Has anybody else experienced anything similar with positive results? How long did it take you all? I've scheduled an appointment with a neurologist but he cant see me until December. Feeling pretty low.

(I've attached my most recent bloodwork from 10/4 showing the anemia is gone).

Thanks again guys

I'm just over a year in. I've put on some needed weight. Nut butters put into smoothies with avocado and banana good. Protein shakes good too.

I csn sense the anxiety and can empathis. Obviouslywe all worry where we will end up. Try to take each day as it comes I'm uo and down too.

It really does take time.

Today I looked back in my diary to a year ago. . Some things have remained. Some gone and some greatly improved.

I'm dreading the clocks changing as so light sensitive but will have to findo a way.

I haven't looked at your bloods as others are better at that on here.

Great the anaemia has gone.

Perhaos you trying too hard. I know I have and for me at times its set me back. I push naturally. Am impatient with progress.

I think it's going to take advantage long as it takes. As long as you ear good food. Don't overdo the exercise. I'm only walking short distances but keep going

So keep your 'peckerry up'

You are not alone

You will improve

Take care.
