Started b12 injections. Is it normal to feel flushed afterwards?

Hi,

Just started injecting b12 two days ago. I'm injecting every other day. Is it normal to feel flushed after injection and the on and off the next day and break out in a sweat in the morning while still in bed?

Hi blueivy_4 It may be advisable to have a word with your doctor even if (as I suspect) he may not be aware the you are self injecting with B12.

It may be that he will be more amenable to treating you if he sees how determined you are.

No, I had my sister do it. Tried few times to get injections at doctor but they refused.

Just to be safe take an anti-histamine an hour before injecting. I also find Subcutaneous injections give me less side effects and are dramatically less painful than intramuscular. Very small needle length and width with the insulin needles, almost completely painless with practice. They release a little slower SubQ, I tend to inject less at a time but more frequently. This seems to reduce any side effects for me.

Thanks for reply. Yes, I've been thinking of doing the subcutaneous injections if I keep having problems with intramuscular.
