Do you need a B-complex supplement to balance out weekly injections?

Personally, I would ditch the B-complex and stick to the one that you need - methylfolate.

Indeed, that is exactly what I did do.

to add to what fbirder says - you definitely don't need a b-complex to 'balance out' injections.

you may need to supplement more micronutrients than just the B12 you are injecting because the problem that is stopping you absorbing dietary B12 can also affect other micronutrients - notably iron and folate. As too much of some micronutrients can be problematic its probably better to avoid multi-vitamins and supplement just the ones that you need.

as platelets are white blood cells not sure how they can provide any measure of iron status which is associated with red blood cells.

absorption problems would be associated with falling B12 levels over time so a single B12 measure isn't that useful.

IFAB test isn't very sensitive - so a negative is a long way from ruling out problems with IF.
