Migraines can definitely be B12 related but they can also indicate a food allergy or any number of other health issues. Sorry you are suffering so.

Hi,

There can be many causes of migraine and B12 deficiency is just one of them.

The Migraine Trust (UK charity)

I have a chronic form of migraine but I think the original migraine process was triggered by nitrous oxide in gas and air mix during childbirth causing inactivation of b12 in my body.

I saw a UK neurologist who understood migraines and he told me to avoid alcohol and caffeine in tea, coffee, chocolate etc and to make sure I was well hydrated ( drank enough water).

My migraines (hormone related) got worse when I was B12 deficient. I'm past the menopause now but still suffering a bit as it takes a while for hormones to settle down and mine get triggered by changes in hormone levels.

I find that running regularly can help - running early enough in an attack can also help but that is just me - things are different for different people.

Many people find that if they can start medication early on before the headache element actually hits it can shorten or even by-pass the headache phase.

The National Migraine Centre (UK based) have a forum on HU that you might find useful. They are also producing a series of podcasts about migraines and how they work that may help
