I have obtained cyancobalamin by post by mistake. Can I use this safely to self inject? I normally suplement my 2mthly GP injection with hydroxocobalamin.Would be grateful for advice as I think that I have been a bit stupid and bought the wrong B12.Many thanks.

yes you can use it - not a problem
People differ quite a lot in how long they retain different types of B12 - in general people don't retain cyanocobalamin as long so you might find that you need to use it a little more frequently - but some people can retain cyano longer than hydroxo so its still a case of listening to your symptoms
I use cyano weekly. Perfectly safe. Possibly monitor for eye issues as some people with Lebers disease can’t take cyano.
Hydroxo is typically given every three months with some needing it monthly.
Cyano is typically given monthly 1ml of 1000mcg/ml but some, like me, need it weekly.
Both hydroxo and cyano are analogues and are converted in the body to methyl and adenosyl for use in the cells.
