B12 shots frequency

I am b12 deficient. Is there a limit on the number of b12 shits that can be taken? Its been a month since I have been taking B12 shots twice a week. The effects of the shots wear off in a few days. Will there be any major side effects if I continue to take the shots twice a week?

Hi andy109 I think you have already been told that it is "safe" to continue to inject every other day as you cannot "overdose" on B12.

The "time to stop" self injecting so frequently is "when there is no further improvement" in your symptoms as per the N.I.C.E. guidelines but only you can judge when that position has been reached. It does not mean until all the symptoms have "gone away".

However have you had your Folate level checked or are you supplementing with folic acid?

I am not a medically trained person but I've had Pernicious Anaemia (one of many causes of B12 deficiency) for more than 46 years.
