I have been receiving B12 injections every 2 months. I was diagnosed deficient over a year ago. GP told me I had Perifiral Neuropathy. Today I have tried to make an appointment for my next jab and told it was only 9 wks since last dose and i can only have them every 12 wks.

can any of you knowledgeable people tell me if the GP is correct. I live in Scotland so could be that i am wrong in my understanding of the guidlines

thank you so much

I would imagine that even Scotland should be guided by the BNF (it is, after all, the British National Formulary).

Their recommendation for people with neurological symptoms is...

“Initially 1 mg once daily on alternate days until no further improvement, then 1 mg every 2  months.“
