Hello. I was just diagnosed with Pernicious Anaemia. I have been prescribed two B12 supplements a day for three months and then 2 a week for the rest of my life. Does this sound adequit? I experience memory loss, severe depression, anxiety, panic attacks, cluster headaches, dizziness, and one I have a question about is I bruise extremely easily. Would the bruising have anything to do with it? Anyway, do you think that the amount of B12 I am taking will be sufficient? Thank you for any input.

Hi Whatdayisit are you in the U.K?
What type of supplement have you been given - oral tablets?
Do you know what your serum Vitamin B12 level is?
Do you know what your Folate level is?
What test was used to determine that you have Pernicious Anaemia?
I am not a medically trained person but I've had Pernicious Anaemia (one of many causes of B12 deficiency) for more than 46 years.
I wish you well.
Hello, the bruising can be due to low platelets, I have the same problem. b12 is needed for blood cell production.
You have been diagnosed with PA. This means that you cannot absorb B12 in your stomach . You should not be on oral supplementation at all . You should have INJECTION loading doses ( 6 over 2 weeks ) Then either one injection every 2or 3months , depending on the remaining symptoms . This regime is for LIFE . Some of us cannot manage on 2 monthly injections and are forced to self-inject .Best wishes .
