Loss of flexibility and strength, PA or just age?

Hi,

I have noticed a swift deterioration in flexibility over the last year or so, especially in legs and back, also suffering from muscle weakness. I have been fit all my life, gymnast, dance, skiing, sailing. I accept it could be the aging process but this is rapid. Could it be the PA? Im on 8 weekly but now managing 4 weekly with self injection. PA was very severe and suspect undiagnosed for a long time until I got a Cryptosporidium (spelling?) Parasite infection.

Any views?

As we age , we produce less and less stomach acid , which we need for digestion of food , absorption of vitamins and minerals and keeping our immune system n good nick ( nature’s way of dispatching us slowly!) This is one of the reasons for slow decline . A multi-vitamin and mineral might help . Also a good probiotic., and of course a good diet , which I’m sure you have . I also have PA , and because of that. , low /no stomach acid . ( Hypochlorhydria/Achlorhydria ) I use a probiotic and recently have started to use Betaine HCL with pepsin and Gentian Bitters (Amazon ) I take 2with any protein meal . They certainly help with digestion .

Wedgewood, I’ve heard Gentian Bitters being mentioned a couple of times recently and am always up for trying a new digestive aid. When I look on Amazon the Gentian Bitters are described as cocktail bitters.

Is this what I’m looking for?

Well something else I use is called Swedish Bitters , which is a mixture of bitter herbs , which are marinated in alcohol for a few weeks . That drink is very bitter indeed ! Vodka is often used. It can also be made like tea . I have tasted the Bavarian drink called Enzian ( Gentian) which is a liqueur , and quite different .Its very sweet , but is supposed to be good for the digestion . No , that’s not what you are looking for ! The sugar in it would not be good for you .

Swedish Bitters can be purchased on Amazon .uk , either ready made up in alcohol or water , or as dried herbs which you can used like tea , or marinate in vodka

Forgot to say that the Gentian Bitters are incorporated in the HCL capsule , not a separate item

Ah right. I can’t see that on Amazon. Can I ask what make they are?

I did originally get Doctor’s Best Betaine HCL with pepsin and Gentian Bitters from Amazon.uk . Having just looked , I find that they haven’t got any in and don’t know if or when they will be back in . I have searched and found that dolphinfitness.uk have them in stock — £25.95 for 360 capsules 650 mg HCL per capsule ( Some HCL capsules only have half of that amount of HCL. . Free delivery .

Body kind .com also have them at the same price , but I don’t know about delivery .
