I've had acne for years and have really been struggling with my skin and it's been made 10x worse after I started self injecting at home.
My back, chest, arms, face and scalp have broken out pretty severely... Any suggestions please? I don't want to stop the injections in case they work for me.

Hi thyroidorwhat a wiser person than I has posted this previously:
"The pimples/acne, is likely to be caused by microbes on your skin reacting to the additional B12 by producing substances that your skin is then reacting to. In theory this could be resolved by use of a good skin wash. You might have better luck talking to your pharmacist and seeing what they can recommend prior to your next maintenance shot - though there is always a chance that it was something that won't recur"
I'm not a medically trained person but I hope this helps and wish you well.
Some say it is due to the homocysteine that builds up when you don't have enough B12 to break it down. With enough B12 and supporting supplements, as far as I know, it does get better.
I only get it on my face and only when my B12 starts working optimally again after a time when it hasn't been (usually because my body has stopped absorbing something else that's vital or I've forgotten something) and that is painful enough! I confess I welcome mine because it means I'm going to feel better for a bit but that doesn't mean I'm not very sympathetic to you - it feels horrible and must be worse because you have suffered enough from it already. As Clive said I think sometimes pharmacists can help you with antibacterial preparations.
Enough B12 and supporting supplements makes your skin generally better in the long run so if you can brave it out for long enough you may find it is the eventual cure for the problem.
Hi. I inject B 12 once a week and notice the skin on my face is more oily, bumpy and not as smooth as it once was too. I don't have pimples yet but I WILL when I increase my injections to every other day! I don't have much advice as far as what you can do to make your skin better, but I'm posting to offer some validation here and let you know I hear you. Your not alone and I know what your going through. Bad skin sucks. But it's a small price to pay in exchange for feeling better. All I can sugest is maybe using proactive. Its wildly used here in the US where I live and works well. Perhaps you don't live here and are in the UK? There are plenty of acne and cleansing washes on the market. But need know your not alone sister! Hang in there. 💗😀🇬🇧😀💗💗
