Just curious does anyone get paranoid or have paranoia like issues when their b12 is low?

Its a common symptom - and listed as one of the ways friends and relatives pick up on levels being low

Hi JennaShi you don't have to be paranoid because you think that everyone's out to get you - it's probably just the low B12....

Lol, its more comforting to know for sure!

That was one of my symptoms before being diagnosed with B12D. Not had it since being on B12 injections.

So glad it all cleared up! How often do you get injections? Have you gotten your IF antibodies and Parietal cell antibodies checked?

My B12D is due to stomach surgery. So I don’t have the antibodies. I still get some benefits from meat and B12 supplementing but not enough to keep from being deficient.

I inject cyano IM. I split my 1ml weekly prescription in half and inject 0.5 ml on Monday morning into my right buttock and the rest on Thursday morning into the left. I have vials instead of ampoules and so I don’t have to inject the entire prescription in one go.

With this half dose I don’t react with any overshoot symptoms (i.e. aggression and thoughtlessness) that I used to get from the full injection, and the dosage lasts the whole week. I also feel that I don't pee as much B12 away with this regime as the concentration from the injection is not as high.

But, i have a stressful commute and meetings that suck the life out of me at work and so I also supplement with 2x 5000 mcg methyl sublinguals and my multivitamins at lunch and again during my evening commute with 2x 800 mcg folic acid.

I also take extra methyl sublinguals or have an energy drink about 30 minutes before meetings to tune up my brain and be able to get both halves of my brain working together to function during the meeting.

Wow thats quite a routine! Have there been days where you’re not so strict and notice the difference? Thats wonderful that you have found what worls for you and dont have the side affects of agression and thoughtlessness.

Yes forgetting to stay on schedule and take the supplements messes everything up.

Yes. That and the depression are the first symptoms to reappear if I don’t inject soon enough.

So glad you figured it out and it was clear. How often do you get injections? Cant remember if o have asked you this bit have ypu gotten your IF antibodies checked and your parietal cell antibodies checked?

I persuaded my GP to switch to fortnightly injections, but I top up with self-injections to make it twice a week.

I’ve not had IF antibodies tested, but the GPC test came back positive. I’ve not asked for the IF as a negative could only Cloud matters.

Thats a smart idea, both for the injections and no IF test. How do tou get the injections for yourself? Does the same doc prescribe it? Gambit had mentioned quite a bit how innacurate the IF test is, I am starting to see this.

I do all of my injections at home.

I got the nurse doing my loading doses to show me how to DIY. When impersuaded the GP to allow me to inject fortnightly I told him I was already self injecting.

So I get two vials per month from the chemist and the other six I buy from Germany, 100 at a time.

Wow thats wonderful that you were able to be honest about it and still get the needed b12. Its nice to know that there are good doctors and nurses that listen and help!

It helped that I gave my GP a (signed) copy of Martin Hooper’s book. Which he read and then passed around the practice.

Thats encouraging! Not sure who the writer you speak of is but he clearly liked the book!
