My thyroid comes back normal or borderline. I was given no indicators or readings, explained what was happening to my body, nor was I told it could possibly be ( by reading on here ) other things I've not been tested for. Idk what to ask the doctor to do bloods for as he's going on what I tell him and plus I have fibromyalgia. I've noticed a lot talking about markings, readings, other bloods that could shed a light. As days my body goes into shut down. I was always on the go, nothing was ever too much now I can't sit down without falling asleep or sluggish and heavy eyed and fighting to keep eyes open. I'm so bloated that some days I can't eat or drink and I suffer IBS(D) sometimes vice versa. I feel like nobody believes me that I'm just lazy, I'm so tired at times I can't sleep and I've cried as been so tired, sore from fibro. Fed up not knowing nothing about any of this, always just left swinging
Thank you

suggest that you get a copy of results of tests that have been done to date.
borderline thyroid implies that thyroid may well be the problem and more detailed thyroid testing would be appropriate but suggest you follow up on that on the TUK forum
I have read your post a few times, may as well be double Dutch, my thyroid checked regular my sis suffers from it and we both have bilirubin mine not that bad considering medication I take. Doctors always fob me off as I've no clue what I'm talking about or what to ask for and if you can ask to be tested for this and that. I feel lost really lost and not clued up. The weight I've piled on is ridiculous through what I thought was an antidepressant so asked to be changed. You all seem so knowledgeable I feel stupid
I wasn't implying anything about your post. Was merely stating idk what my markers should be, what they were, also all the different tests you are all knowledgeable on. All I was told was B12 low and folic acid. Injections needed this time
Thank you but all I am trying to say is that you need to get hold of a copy of the test results - you are legally entitled to these (presuming you are in the UK) and you should not be charged for them now that the GDPR is in place.
We can't really help you with what the results mean unless you have and share the results.
So sorry. I cried yesterday too. It's a pretty terrifying feeling when all you can see ahead of you is further decline. (I'm 43 with a young son and always been crazy productive. My other half you to tease me for not sitting still for 5 mins. Always busy.) My doctor (s) have been weirdly over keen to diagnose with CFS. (Fibro was mentioned to). All before we found out I was severely b12 deficient, severely vit d deficient , chronic iron deficiency and chronic low folate. Now looks like I may be hypothyroid or Hashis too. Unless you have had the above tested AND seen the results for yourself, I would be questioning the Fibro diagnosis. It's a diagnosis of exclusion. Last option. Once other causes have been ruled out. If they haven't done that then your doctor is not being straight with you. Get print outs of your blood results and look at the numbers yourself or post them here for advice. If you haven't been tested for the above, OR if you find the results not as "normal" as doc has told you....that puts a big question mark over Fibro as a diagnosis. And the good news is, deficiencies can be treated!
I'm sorry to be reading this, you seem to be going through a time of it. My thyroid is ok then when retested borderline. This is my 2nd time being told b12 and folic acid low, last time was Feb I was given prescription but weren't for self injecting like my blood clot, no information what to do where to go then I lost it from my memory. Then I got a script posted to house I was told all info would be there. A4 page with 2 lines on it B12 low and folic acid make appointment with treatment room nurses. I'd to miss Monday last loading jab as son was ill so go Thurs instead.
The pins and needles doing me in they getting worse.
Low B12 - folate - Ferritin and LOW VitD go hand in hand with LOW Thyroid.
These are the tests you need - TSH - FT4 - FT3 and Thyroid Anti-bodies TPO and Tg. The NHS will not do all these tests - hence other disorders like CFS and fibro. Private Testing is available on Thyroid UK - here on Health Unlocked.

I asked nurses in treatment room, who administer the loading doses and injections what my markers where as I read that a lot on here, same as I see how ppl know the amout/level their b12 was. I'm new to all this, either your all a dab hand at it or truly educated and know what your looking for. I also showed them what tests where suggested to me and just shook their heads. So as you can see, I'm in the dark, I ask for things and nothing happens. So do I make another doctors appointment? I came here seeking wisdom ppl who have been through it all. So I'm sorry if I'm not as educated as everyone or majority on here. Just imagine how you would feel in my shoes and how words come across as condesending and took out of context
You speak with the Receptionist and ask for copies of all your results with ranges. Do not write them down as mistakes can be made. These results are legally yours and they cannot refuse - nor do you have to give a reason. It is the only way you can monitor YOUR health and see what has been missed.
Are you in a position to have Private Testing in your home - if so I gave you the link above and I listed the tests that you are needing - please ask if it is not clear and I will do my best to help. Please remember we have all been in your shoes at the beginning of our illnesses and we have all had to read and read and learn in order to find wellness. Lots of answers for you in the above Replies. I remember having to read things over and over until they eventually sunk in. Why not make notes for yourself in a way you understand ...
Did you look at the link given above to help you with the Thyroid Testing ?
Hi, yes I did read the link I couldn't afford all those tests. I don't have private health care. I should get a family plan.
I just feel so thick on here. It's like I'm reading when doctors wrote prescriptions. Maybe mental health and them chucking medications at me from 1995 I just take their word for it. My first proper dose of injection is 27th September.
Low B12 and folate are extremely common as result of having low thyroid levels
you need copies of recent test results for TSH, FT4, FT3 plus TPO and TG thyroid antibodies and also very important to test vitamin D and ferritin
All thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. This gives highest TSH and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)
Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies
Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have special offers, Medichecks usually have offers on Thursdays, Blue Horizon offers are more random
