Am I finally getting nearer to an answer?

I have been trying lately to reduce the frequency of my injections from 1 every other day to (now and then, experimentally) having a two-day gap. It sadly hasn't worked well, and have given this up at least for a while.

I have written to the gastroenterologist who has decided that I have IBS although given a trial Doxycycline course for SIBO, and sent me back to my GP. I asked her 5 questions, one of which was "why are my B12 levels "normal" when I am injecting every other day?"

This would suggest a deficiency very strongly, don't you think ?

She, Hidden -although I did see 2 male gastroenterologists previously, neither of which did anything at all except talk to me for ten minutes -then tell my GP they thought I had IBS.

She has, I believe, been influenced by these earlier "opinions"* (one was a colleague) , although verbally she admitted that this does not explain concurrent symptoms: hair loss, bleeding gums, tinnitus, tingling hands and legs, cognitive,memory and concentration problems etc. etc. etc......(nothing unfamiliar to anyone here). She has never written this in a report however, so of little help to me.

What I read about IBS is that it is a syndrome : a set of symptoms, and cannot really be diagnosed other than by elimination of everything else with similar symptoms.

But yes, interesting that she wrote in her last report that my folate, iron and B12 are all "normal" since I am injecting every other day and have been since September, and taking multivitamins+ minerals and additional folate as well as having a diet full of all three......

how normal is that ?

Also interested to see what the inherited metabolic diseases consultant finds out about my raised MMA - but that will take a year to find out.

I will of course let you know anything that I find out. Now trying to get back to "normal" after tinkering with my injection frequency- what a difference a day makes.
