B12 Deficiency Injections

Hello All,

I had a B12 injection this morning, prior to that in September.

approx. 2hrs later, 2 painful bruises on both thighs have appeared.

Is there a link between the injection and bruising? Does anyone else experience this?

it sounds as if the nurse hit a couple of veins when she was administering the injections.

The bruising is blood that escaped from the veins - it will have coagulated/gone hard and this is probably why it is painful.

I haven't really written much detail, but i did have the injection in the right arm, would that still be the case? sorry to sound stupid. It's the only correlational I can find as i haven't knocked my thighs at all since the injection. Thank you for your reply.

I was always getting bruises on my thighs before I started my 3 monthly cycle of B12 injections, So it's seemed very strange that within hours of having my injection 2 appear.

agreed = if injection was in arm it's not going to be that.

It is quite easy to knock against something and not remember it - I've done it in the past.

Try not to worry about it but if you find it is happening quite frequently then may be worth looking into.
