Taking 20000 mcg daily , and it's helping. How long do you think I will need 2 take this amount. Of course GP is worried about liver. Ty in advance.

Been dosing 4 2? Months and a bit.

Fl17 - you keep posting random short comments without giving any detail.

Why did you start supplementing in the first place? Do you know that you actually have an absorption problem? 2000mcg is a large dose to be taking if you don't have an absorption problem.. It's probably your dose for life if you do have an absorption problem.

many of your posts are tips which may be helpful ideas but often don't have any supporting links associated with them and don't necessarily give a balanced view of the pros and cons

eg this post

healthunlocked.com/pasoc/po....

Please could you provide more information.

I just know that it's helping my symptoms. Don't know which Dr. 2 go to at the moment. Trying 2 help others even if my posts are short are random. I don't care about brevity when it can help a life. I'm new 2 this and finding answers. Also, I'm going by personal experience, which I thought was the whole point of this. I've been having trouble posting links as well. I haven't gone into full detail about my health, but I think I've stated enough. Thanks .

I always want people 2 be cautious of course. Ty for ur reply. I don't know anyone in person who knows any of this. All I know is that B12 has helped my symptoms. Thanks again.

Some people here who are not well, probably have trouble writing as well too. Reminder.

thank you but you still haven't answered basic questions like why you started using sublinguals, eg what are your symptoms, how long have they been going on, what blood tests you may have had.

in terms of the posts you are welcome to share relevant experiences but a bit more information would be useful as it is very difficult to gain anything from just a small single sentence statement.

what problems have you experienced in posting links? what browser are you using? or are you on an i-phone.

Blood tests came up with high b12 levels , think bc i started dosing and it relieved symptoms.

Had dementia? Brain injury like feelings , numb face and hands. Been going on for a while?

Started getting worse this fall, and that's why I started taking sublinguals. GP Dr. says it's just anxiety. Ok ..

B12 helped in the past but I think I thought my levels were too high, even after some time. Dr said 3-4 years ago ? It cld affect my liver.

I started supplementing after a few years again bc I was getting sicker. It' s helped but was still struggling. Think my little 'add-ons ' are helping. Just found what was around me.

Dr also said my liver Cld get damaged in 6 months? If i keep supplementing. Think that's what they said.

Goal is to go down to 5 mcg a day, when I feel better. Then maybe a few times a week?

I am a little concerned about my liver.

I know the B12 has helped greatly. Haven't been told it's an absorption problem, just know it helps me.

Sorry , didn't give proper intro.

Symptoms have improved. Was feeling a bit tired though. Read somewhere that is normal?

Concerned about liver though. Appreciate the help. Brain is working a bit better. Nobody diagnosed me, other than anxiety. Just telling u of my symptoms. Haven't driven for a long time, but getting there.

Was always tired, nothing seemed 2 work, body or brain. Lost appetite since summer , that's when symptoms got worse i think. Fish oil was all i was taking , and a few other things I believe.

I thought I was just experiencing withdrawal from a med. Been going on for a while, the brain fog , brain injury like feelings. Ty so much ox ..

Feels I'm getting better , but concerned about liver and if b12 will 'wear off.' Haven't worked, ruined relationships, but staying positive.

Unable to really 'live' fully. U people are really the only ones who know this.

For taking up space, I'm sorry. But I want to help others. Also, if I provide info anyone is welcome 2 search it themselves. Like I said, im new to this. Cheers.

there is no known toxicity from B12.

Hydroxocobalamin is used at doses of 5000,000mcg (5g) administered intravenously as the treatment of choice for cyanide poisoning because of the lack of toxicity. The danger there is hypertension caused by injecting the volume of fluid needed to get that amount of B12 into your system.

Liver damage can cause the liver to dump B12 into the blood raising B12 levels.

You are not going to damage your liver through supplementing, even at the doses you are using

Thank u so much! Sorry, I didn't type the best before. Maybe its good u got me to write. Dr said it goes right through me, but also said it can ruin liver. Also said this is all anxiety. Ty again. Sorry if I sounded abrupt.

I know that it's working 4 me. I can improve diet too, and maybe eat a bit more.

Merry Christmas 2 you and all!! If u celebrate. Ox

unfortunately it is very common for things to be labelled as anxiety. anxiety is one of the symptoms of B12 deficiency, but it is also a symptom of iron deficiency, folate deficiency, and a whole lot of other things but it's quite easy to stop at the label rather than looking for the underlying cause.

If you have a B12 absorption problem changing your diet (unless you go for the raw liver diet) is unlikely to make a difference, but looking at other minerals and vitamins and whether your diet is properly balanced certainly wouldn't hurt.

Now it's a matter of finding out which ones. Don't know if it's folic acid , folate?

Gambit62 profile image
Gambit62Administrator in reply to Fl17

folate is generally used for the naturally occurring form of variants on folic acid.

Fl17 profile image
Fl17 in reply to Gambit62

Ur quick lol ty. wondering if I should buy the folate instead? Think I read somewhere u don't need with sublinguals. Which other minerals are usually needed? If u don't mind.ty again 4 Ur care.

Also, I take iron :)

Gambit62 profile image
Gambit62Administrator in reply to Fl17

you don't need sublinguals for folate.

folic acid is cheap - other forms of folate tend to be much more expensive and generally totally unnecessary.

Fl17 profile image
Fl17 in reply to Gambit62

So folic acid 4 subliminals?

Thank you again !

Ok, think u meant folate 4 sublinguals? :) ty.

May buy folic acid soon. Ty 4 saving our wallets. :p Also bought calcium today, and took some. Feeling a bit better.

Ty again 4 sharing ur knowledge, and helping us. Ox

Don't know much about Selenium. May take later. Think I can get a good amount from food, i.e. eggs.

Marz profile image
Marz in reply to Fl17

Not if you are not absorbing the goodness from your food ... 😊

Fl17 profile image

True good point. Ty. Think I always take that into account. Maybe should with ' lesser' needed vitamins and minerals too.

That's why we're all here, most of us? Food absorption issues.

Apple cider vinegar helps some I think. Think it helps w b12 absorption as well, in my case subliguals. Might not be 4 everyone though, but probably worth trying. It's safe from what I know, but everyone can do their own research of course.

Now I should find out how much folic acid I need. Just took 1000 mcg? Will look into this.

Ty again Marz, and all!

I'm excited about the folic acid. :) took some tonight and feel better already. Brain feels sharp. Started calcium a few days ago too.

Guess the fa will help use the b12 better.

Seems I need less too. But should prob still keep taking . 20000 mcg subs.
