There is a supplement for patients ( including PA patients ) with low or no stomach acid (Hypochlorhydria or Achlorhydria ).it is Swansons Betaine HCL with pepsin capsules ,taken before meals especially meals with meat . (Amazon ) You need to google how to use it correctly . If it's not a serious lack of acid, try drinking diluted organic cider vinegar with Mother . Before meals . One member on here drinks lime juice which helps a lot .

Apple cider vinegar, orange juice, tomato juice. Take your pick,

Salsa with any meal, especially breakfast for me.

I also like strong black coffee

kyanah, have you spoken to a pharmacist or your GP about the gastritis. If it is due to h pylori infection it will need to be treated with a dose of anti-biotics and you will need to take PPIs for a month or so to give the stomach lining a chance to heal.

If you are self injection B12 then taking PPIs won't be a problem as you are by-passing the stomach as a way of getting B12 into you.

Antibiotics bring their own problems, possibly exacerbating stomach problems by killing off the good bacteria as well as the bad.

Personally, I would much rather use pro-biotics to sort out the gut bacteria issues, and that will also treat any H Pylori problem as well as other stomach problems.

Don't waste money on those little bottles of pro-biotics that you find in the supermarkets. Make your own. Fermented veggies like cabbage and carrot are easy to make, and hundreds of times more effective than shop-bought pro-biotics. Water Kefir is also very easy to make at home. You Tube is awash with helpful information on how to make these items.

whilst pro-biotics might help I would strongly recommend that you do consult GP and/or pharmacist.

Pernicious Anaemia is caused by autoimmune Metaplastic gastric atrophy, which tends to affect the fundus and body of the stomach, not the antrum.

Gastric parietal cells are restricted to the fundus and body. So antral gastritis won't lower stomach acid.
