I've had my loading doses, I am having my next one in 3 weeks, however, I am so tired and aching, do I need my next dose sooner?

According to the NICE and BNF guidelines if you are having neurological symptoms your loading doses should continue until there is no further improvement.

Folic acid is important as it and B12 help your iron make red blood cells.

Go back to your GP with a list of symptoms and ask for a continuation of injections.

It is not an overnight cure and a lot will depend on how long you have had the P.A and the amount of damage it has caused.

I'm not a medically trained person but there are others on here who will be able to give you good advice.

although it is correct to start treatment for a B12 deficiency before treating a folate deficiency the time delay is 24-48 hours, so if you are still folate deficient that needs to be addressed - otherwise your body won't be able to use the B12 properly as it needs both B12 and folate for a lot of processes.

clivealive has covered the departure from recommended protocol, assuming you are UK based.

So I've been back to the drs with all my information symptoms etc she dismissed it all saying I could only have an injection every three months, said she thought I was menopausal!! Took blood test for that, I'm feeling so crap, tired and aches all the time, at my wits end now
