Hi does anyone suffer with tinnitus.

I have it 24-7 and it is driving me mad. It is making my life a misery. It is continual noise in both ears.

I have hearing problems and should wear h

earing aids but can't cope with the noise.

Hi Diane57 yes, I'm a "fellow sufferer" too - got it now as I type.

Are you still on 3 monthly injections of B12? Only if tinnitus is "counted" as a neurological symptom (or if you have others that are) you should be getting them (at least) every two months according to the NICE and BNF Guidelines. You might take that up with your doctor.

Also have you had your folate and iron levels checked recently?

I'm not a medically trained person but there are others on here who will be able to give good advice.

I wish you well and hope you get some relief soon.

Hi i have b12 every 3mnths. I have an app at hospital next week but have been told there is nothing they can do for tinnitus.

At least try and get your injection frequency increased to every 8 weeks as I find my tinnitus sometimes "comes and goes" between injections.

Hello! Yes I have tinnitus too. It started when I was 13, and I am now 39. My ears are also very sensitive to air pressure and damp environments. I got no help with it and was dismissed by doctors etc. It has become such a part of me now that I can't imagine life without it. Have you had it for long?

I have tinnitus but its very low grade and I can live with it without any problems.

This site may be of some help - particularly if you have other hearing problems

actiononhearingloss.org.uk/...

sure there must also be forums on HU specifically related to Tinnitus and/or hearing loss where you might be able to share thoughts more fully.

How long have you had the hearing aids - unfortunately they need a bit of time to adjust to and its better to start using them earlier rather than later because of that. It may be possible.

I have had hearing aids for a long time over 15yrs. The tinnitus has got worse over the past few years. Doctor wasn't interested till i told him i could throw myself under a train now i have a hospital app next week. He gave me pills but they didn't do anything.

Same here, ever since I had labrynthitus some 10 years ago that left me with low grade tinnitus but last couple of years it has been so loud and as you say continual 24/7. There just no respite. It wouldn't be quite so bad if it was just one single noise but it's high, low, whooshes from to the other and pulses. Hearing has been affected to the point that i need to look at people when they are speaking to see what they are saying and I cannot watch TV without subtitles. I didn't realise how bad it had become until recently when I had a very rare night out with some old work colleagues and the found it almost impossible to follow any of the conversations going on around the table.

I get 2 monthly b12 injections since being diagnosed with PA in Dec 2015 and they haven't touched it or the other neuro symptoms I have.

I've noticed the tinnitus awareness ads on the TV and checked their website but could only find management not cure of noises.

I've resigned myself to it now but wouldn't it be lovely to wake up in the morning to silence instead of the deafening cacophony of sound.

Hi it is very hard to live with. I have hearing aids but they make things worse. Like you I look at people when they talk to me but some think I am staring at them so I have to explain. I also get are you deaf when I don't hear someone call me, I love the look on their face when I say yes.

I've had tinnitus for over 10 years now sometimes get a high pitch hissing or ringing noise in my ear for a bit then it stops and most of the time it's there then sudden for a while it all stops & makes me jump as I can hear perfectly lol , my ears always feel like they are blocked/stuffy but doctor has looked in them and said there's no wax build up or anything it looks fine , I used to be able to hold my nose & mouth & blow gently so my ears gently pop like when they get really blocked/stuffy that's what my ent doctor told me but my ears don't seem to pop anymore they feel too blocked/stuffy & painful :(
