US Recommendations?

Hello, I am wondering if anyone can provide an accessible reference for the US recommendations for treatment of B12 deficiency? I have the British ones, but am seeing a neurologist for the first time tomorrow, and would like to be armed with the US information as well, as I live in the US. Thank you!

Just wondered if you had read the book "Could it Be B12" by Sally Pacholok and JJ. Stuart? thought there might be something in there about USA guidelines.

I have not yet read it, but will add it to my list. Unfortunately, I won't have a chance to look before my appointment tomorrow. Thank you for the suggestion!

I emailed, but they are not aware of a reference. Thank you for the suggestion.

There is this

medlineplus.gov/ency/articl...

but there are elements of it that are pretty useless and misleading.

this on PA but a lot of it is a rehash of the above

medlineplus.gov/ency/articl...

this on vitamin B12 level testing

medlineplus.gov/ency/articl...

(reference range is potentially dangerous and there is no warning about this)

this was the search results from which the avoce came so you could search those a bit more

vsearch.nlm.nih.gov/vivisim...

The CDC used to have a microsite on B12 deficency but it disappeared a year ago - it wasn't perfect but it was certainly better than most of the above.

This site might also be of use

Thank you! I appreciate the effort you put into replying! I looked at all of the links, and will take them with tomorrow. I find it pretty interesting that there doesn't appear to be a formal US recommendation like the one in Britain.

different regions within the UK have different practices ... and US is probably more akin to looking at Europe and there is a huge variation across europe :)
