Seems like we are getting to the stage of if its to our advantage, when drs agree a regeme we need to get it in writing.

Perhaps when a GP suggests a suitable regime, it might be helpful to write a letter thanking the GP for suggesting said regime and outlining the regime in detail. Letters are supposed to be filed with a patients medical notes so would be a record of the regime being agreed to.

Next time ask if he has a dictionary. Then ask him to look up 'guidelines'.

He is allowed to use his discretion.

I'm very sorry for you - it's horrible, isn't it.

If, like so many of us you find your only way forward is self injecting we are happy to help you. At least it gives you control over your destiny again and you aren't at the mercy of the Dr's any more.

For more information you could look up my profile by double clicking on my name and see my post "My Experiences".

That must feel pretty awful to have your doctor lie to you!

Keep fighting them on this!

"now he said because of UK guidelines it's now 12 weeks again !!!!!"

I think faced with this, I'd present him with page 8 of the BCSH Cobalamin Guideline with the relevant treatment info highlighted.

Hi, iv been down that road, sooooo frustrating!! I have now taken it into my own hands and self medicate. Our health is very important and not to be messed with. One day this failure of the medical profession will be heard. Let's hope for all our sakes it won't be to long!
