Self Injecting

Hi

Could anyone offers some advice on how I can start self injecting ,e.g. where do you get the needles and the vials etc? I live in Preston, Lancashire and have the Hydroxocobalamin injection every 3 months. I asked my doctor if I could have it more frequently but he said three monthly should be sufficient.

Thanks in advance

Polly

Hi Polly,

Have a look at this link from the old PAS forum, you will find all the info in there; also other information you may want, just use the search option of that forum, see:

I hope this helps,

Kind regards,

Marre.

I got mine from canada - I think it was from b12.com - I used two needles the first time. One to take up the B12 from the vial and a new sharp one to inject. As I used the sharp needle the first time, it was painless when I pushed the needle in. Now I use a single needle and the rubber stopper on the vial here in the USA blunts the needle slightly and makes the insertion a bit harder and sometimes painful. I also found that if I feel pain when starting, repositioning the needle over to a new spot within 0.5 cm of the first site seems to work ok.

I got miy b12 from amazon de. If you have a uk amazon account it uses that. Site is in German, but if you right click there should be a translation option. I got syringes and needles from amazon uk.
