Since late September my husband has been using the Red Light therapy twice a day. He has gone back to his pen and ink drawing which he hasn’t done since he got PD. He recently contacted an Art Gallery in the U.K. with regards visiting Parkinson’s Art exhibition. The owner and a fellow Parkinson’s sufferer asked my husband to send him his art work which he really liked and it’s now been added to the website. Definitely given him a boost, he draws without tremor!

Beautiful!
Exceptional, the sharpness and cleanliness of the line are worthy of an artist with a very steady hand. I am very interested in red light therapy. Did you buy the helmet in Tasmania? How long has your husband had PD? Have all symptoms disappeared? Is your neurologist informed? I apologize for all the questions but such an innovative therapy requires them. Dear Zella it would be useful if you periodically shared with us the continuation of the therapy. Thank you very much.
Thank you for your kind comments. My husband has been dx for 5and 1/2 years now although had symptoms going back much longer than that. Many of his symptoms are much more manageable than they were although still present. Tremor was never his worst symptom, and comes and goes. When he draws the tremor seems to stop.
Symptoms that have definitely improved are much less apathy and more positivity about his condition and generally feeling better. Walking has improved and he quickly gets into a better stride when out walking than he did. Walks between 2 and 4 miles a day.
Has now cut down Modopar to 2 and a half - 25/100 a day.
Takes Rasagiline 1 per day and Amantadine twice a day.
Started taking Terrazozin last December for BHP which is reported to slow progression.
Still has bradykensia and lower back pain which has worsened since PD.
He does take supplements.
The red light was purchased from Tasmania although on previous posts there are a few different places to buy them, and if you are technical you can make it yourself.
I will continue to update any other improvements.
I have a Tasmanian helmet, which my son made me,but have no guidelines on how long I should use it, have tried 5 minutes duration, but havent seen any improvement. Any advice appreciated.
My husband started off with 10 minutes for the red light then 10 minutes for the pale coil light. Built it up to doing that twice a day leaving 8 hours between sessions. He now puts it on for 20 mins each light in the morning and 20 minutes each light in the evening. If yours is the same as ours there are two light settings and the instructions say start off with 10 minutes each light setting and build it up. Always leaving 8 hours between the sessions.
Thanks for that advice, mine is a red light one, which I shall now start using again, when I first got it, I did it for 20min with a pounding headache as a result. Which discouraged me somewhat.
Very encouraging. I fancy a gadget, and will probably try the Well Red one next year when my SPARK trial finishes
Hi Winnie, Well Red is the name of the instrument?
Lovely! Love to hear success stories!💕
Wonderful News ! Keep it going.
Wonderful news and a lovely delicate drawing. Hope for us other artists too.
The gallery is displaying Art for painters with PD, as the owner has PD. Some of the art on display is amazing and all so different. Link is above. Thanks for your comments.
Zella, I have a soft spot in my heart for both, Parkinson's and humming birds. His art is fantastic. I would love to buy it!
My husband started using Red Light therapy 2 weeks ago. I do see minor cognitive improvements, but we have a long road ahead. . .
What a lovely thing to say about the drawing, at the moment we only have the original one and it’s our two sons favourite drawing as well. I hope your husband continues to improve with the Red light therapy. It was quite a few weeks of use before we saw any improvements, but any improvements however small really is just such a bonus.
I do calligraphy. Very relaxing 😊.
Beautiful! So glad he’s feeling better and is able to create again. I look forward to seeing his works on the site. This is just lovely.
Thank you for your kind response. drawing every day now he s feeling much more positive and less tired.
Good luck with your hat. It took a couple of weeks to arrive. The only effort it requires is time and remembering to keep charging it up. Fingers all crossed for you. 🤞
Yes please let know of results. Blessings to you
Thanks for your kind comment. We have added the broccoli seed protocol alongside the red hat and we are still noticing good results. Drawing still prolific and more of his work has been added to the website. I think he escapes into the drawings like a kind of mindfulness in that it s completely absorbing and he can forget about the PD.
Yesterday he forgot to take his midday Modapar and didn’t notice until late afternoon when his alarm went off to take one. It’s happened quite a few times so something must be making a difference 🤞
