I posted earlier a warning from the American Heart Association to be very careful in using chloroquine or its derivative hydroxychloroquine if you have a coronary risk factor especially as a PwP.
The Brazilian CT (n-81) was a decent sized trial without a control arm.They used chloroquine plus AZIT, The exact treatment protocol was 450 mgs 2x daily plus AZIT for 5 days in one arm and 650 in the 2nd "high" dose arm plus AZIT. Why they did not use a 3rd arm with hydroxychloroquine I have no idea.
Unfortunately, by day six, 11 patients had died in the high dose arm! In conclusion, they found that "that chloroquine causes a dose-dependent increase in an abnormality in the ECG that could predispose people to sudden cardiac death.” What I have called SDS/CVD. Very similar to findings out of China for employing high doses of chloroquine although some of these studies have been "removed".
Whether the results would have been different with hydroxychloroquine is possible. Nevertheless, if you have a CVD condition and/or use medications to control that condition, use extreme caution with either of these two drugs if you intend to use them.

Better keep to a lower preemptive dosage at 200mg hydroxychloroquine (NOT chloroquine with terrible side effects) as Dr. Zelenko has been using with 99.9% success. Higher dose chloroquine during the CT most likely caused a serious potassium/electrolyte imbalance.
Another hint - don't be deficient in potassium folks. Low zinc affects potassium level.
it’s the Z-pak which apparently is the issue with the heart. When Dr Zelenko used the hydroxychloricin , he did not use the z-pak antibiotic. And, as stated in another reply: it was a lower dose of the hydroxychloricin with zinc, with a different antibiotic.
Another Dr, who is the head infectious disease Dr in charge of a network of hospitals is also using intravenous Vit C, 1500 mg 4x a day spaced throughout the day, and has had great results for those who are hospitalized at fighting off further infections, complications
So these protocols provide HOPE that this virus may not be do deadly, that if one gets it, fatality is not necessarily inevitable!
Dr. Zelenko doesn't use Z-pak form. He uses the azithromycin in divided doses (one 500mg pill per day for 5 days) along with HCQ - he strongly pointed that out on one of his videos. Vitamin D, C, A, Zink are all very valuable.
Many unresolved issues here with this protocol or any of them to be frank primarily due to comorebidities which are never delineated or even discussed by either Dr. Z or Dr. C. Probably concerned with potential malpractice down the road Who knows?
The Z-Pak is a 5-day course of azithromycin (Zithromax), promoted by an article in the WSJ. Another "repurposed" drug with little evidence to support its use.
I was looking at side effects for chloroquine and I noticed that one of the drugs on a list of drugs that are suggested not to use with chloroquine is AZT. It says in some cases both may be required in which case the doctor may alter the dosing and or schedule.

No demographic data as yet BUT the deaths in Canada over this last weekend is startling for the numbers of deaths in the >70 years group And who were in Rest Homes or Seniors Residential housing , mostly in Quebec Province.
The issue does not appear to be just that they were > 70, and likely Immobile, but the standard of care and that they were in 3 or 4 bed wards. That sped up the rate of infection within each room.
British Columbia has not had more than one person to a room for over 10 years that I can remember, and that shows up in the statistics.
If YOU have friends or relatives you care about, in a seniors housing, please investigate the standards for number of people per room. If it is NOT 1, I urge YOU to start a campaign to get the change to one person per room with a toilet.
PS I'm 71 next week and we still live independently and no where ready for a Retirement Home.
