I have Parkinson's. My wife has Fibro plus Poly Myalgia Rheumatica. (spelling?)

Supposedly, high dose thiamine hcl may help with Fibro.

My wife gave B1 a half hearted try and found no improvement.

On the other hand, I would be totally disabled, advanced stage Parkinson's, today without B1.

I can find thiamine w/o hcl but have been unable to find thiamine with hcl other than in 100 mg. What is the brand name and where do you purchase it? What is the recommended dosage? Thank you!

Try vitacost. Large capsules and very reasonable especially when they have their numerous sales.

Thanks but they don't appear to have HCL. Is that important?

Hi , yes that is the one dr Constantini recommends. It’s under B1

I would look into taking Hardy’s daily essential nutrients too . They made a big difference to my husband when he swapped other supplements in it to the one. He also takes extra b1 on top of the Hardy’s.

Nadine,

Have you looked into Lyme diagnosis?

i have several times. no lyme's disease. i haven't been feeling very well recently so haven't kept up with responses or lack of to my question re: fibro plus parkinsons. i guess i need to go back to see if missed any other responses. i keep hoping will find others who have both fibro and parkinsons. fibro is so difficult to live with especially when have chronic fatigue but to add parkinsons it's really difficult.

Nadine,

According to this study magnesium chloride oil applied topically (mag oil) can be helpful for fibromyalgia and members on this forum have reported it can be helpful to alleviate cramping associated with PD in the legs and arms as well as for constipation. Mag oil is also useful as a topically applied pain reliever and in some instances can be useful for certain types of nerve pain. At least one forum member has reported it can be helpful for increasing range of motion and relieving pain of the shoulders. It is relatively inexpensive and even more economical if you make your own from the dry magnesium chloride flakes mixed with distilled water. Here is a link that you can review :

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/263...

Magnesium can also be helpful in PD in multiple ways and the topically applied mag oil is readily absorbed through the skin and into the body. Good luck!

Nadine,

Hope you'll find others on this forum with your symptoms and will get good advice to find some relief. Many have good experience with high dose thiamine - vitamin B1, you can find more information on this subject in numerous posts (especially RoyProp's posts).

Wishing you all the best!
