What if Parkinson,s is your brain's attempt to shut down harmful stimuli?
Example : A boxer in the ring is deep into the conscious thought of moving, bobbing, footwork, throwing jabs or hooks. All while taking a beating. The brain says to itself that this is self destructive behavior and starts shutting down those links. Instead of avoiding those activities we continue in them creating new pathways which the body shuts down again.
Similar to an extreme food allergy.

An actor who is thinking about, how do I want to move, how should my expression look, where to put the inflection in my voice. If that was a weak spot you might have over exaggerated movements.

You mean like an addiction? Are u saying the shut down is to avert Parkinsons or that the shut down eventually brings it on?
Case in point. My mom's side of the family ( thin builds ) stay virtually the same size all their lives. If we put weight on it is only in the belly. All the siblings deal with anxiety to the point that they are always trying to address it. Migraines are very common. So if my family is already predisposed to not handle stress I would not either. Throw in several concussions, one needing a 3 day stay in the hospital, tearing the tendons of my knee cap in the 5th grade. By the time I was married I had over 130 stitches. So if I am already predisposed to have anxiety, and stress is my poison then it would make sense the brain would want to shut down that activity.
My daughter has a friend that is so allergic to peanuts that he can not even walk into a Chick Fillet, so he doesn't. What if early onset is the brains way of addressing harmful stimuli but over reacting like an extreme allergy.

As my PD progressed the more I tried to control my surroundings. I tried to avoid stress. I would pay more for a direct flight than save a couple of hundred on a layover.

Previous reply regard Stress. Stress was reseached by Benson who developed methods to reduce stress by systematic muscle relaxation to point of achieving balance between parasympatetic and sympathic nervious systems. More recent research on a protocol using visualization at balance point, to achieve healing of PD symptoms. Issue is signal interuption , signal return to hemostasis, and restoring functional signal.
