It's been quite awhile since I posted anything. I've had Parkinson's for over six years. My biggest issue is freezing, slowness, and stiffness. I live in Denver and am considering DBS and am curious if any one has under the asleep version of the surgery and what your experience has been.

Sleep method for DBS surgery
Ray_rich44, One of my major symptoms of PD was freezing. I had DBS surgery in May 2014 where I was put to sleep during surgery. I was told that DBS does not help with freezing. However, when I woke up to from surgery, my freezing symptoms was gone. This did not last long as it has slowly returned after the surgery as the disease progresses. It is still not as bad as it was before surgery, but I believe that it will get there sooner or later. Even if I do get as bad as before, I think it was worth it because I can not imagine how bad my freezing would be today if I did not have my DBS surgery. Plus DBS improved greatly all of my other PD symptoms.
Where do you live and how old are you. What should I expect recovery time to look like? Thx
I'm off to my orientation on Monday
