Tonite my wife daughter and I might go see Actor/Director Crispen Glover present a slide show and show his movie "It Is Fine! EVERYTHING IS FINE", a movie about coping with Cerebral Palsy, if we don't get snowed in.

AndyC profile image
AndyC in reply to Joealt

Enjoy! :-)

No snow here just a nasty frost forecast overnight

It was a great show. Crispin read from his books and then put on his movie about A Guy With Cerebral Palsey Who Was Sort of a Serial Killer/Porn Star. After The Movie he fielded questions and gave long detailed responses to questions like: "Can you tell us what happened on The Letterman Show?". Wild stuff.

Meeting the Pope

A rich American tourist was holidaying in Rome, and was intent on seeing the Pope. There he stood, in a big long line with a rather expensive suit on, hoping the Pope would notice how smart he was and perhaps talk a few words with him.

As the Pope made his way slowly down the line, he walked right past the American, hardly even noticing him.

The Pope then stopped next to a low-life sot, leaned over and whispered something in the sot's ear, and made his way on again.

This really angered the American. After speaking with the drunkard, the American agreed to pay $1000 dollars to exchange clothing, in the hope that the Pope would speak to him the next day.

The next morning the American stood in the line, waiting to see the Pope and hopefully exchange a few words. The Pope was making his way slowly up to the American. When he finally reached him, he leaned over to the American and spoke softly into his ear..

"I thought I told you yesterday to get the f**k out of here."

I'm going to the opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for Banner Neuro Wellness. It's a dynamic exercise and enrichment facility to serve the needs of the Parkinson's community in Gilbert, AZ.

Enrichment: Weekly support groups, speakers, nutritional education, art (painting, drawing, multimedia), crafts, speakers and music therapy.

Fitness: Specialized exercise equipment (bungee mobility trainer, elliptical, spin bikes, treadmills with harness, etc.) Wii fitness, dance and movement, yoga/tai chi.

The wellness center will attempt to address the physical as well as the emotional side of the disease, and will also cater to caregivers and victims' significant others. :o)

I'm looking forward to the day. It should be a fun outing for both of us (me and my husband/caregiver Tom). I hope everyone has a great weekend.

in reply to tlongmire

Please let us know how your week end goes.

It will be a great facility for PWP's in the area. Enjoyed the tour of the facility and meeting the philanthropist (Shiela, also a PWP) whose dream was to create this gathering place. I only wish it was closer to home.

Wish it was closer to me, also. Sounds wonderful!

Very true. Have never seen eye to eye since they were little. They are great when apart but not great when together. Both stubborn like their dad!! Sure it will all come out in the wash. Thanks for your good wishes.

Glad you had a good day with your children. Enjoy.

I was wondering is your main symptom a tremor. Mine is and can vary from day to day, worse with stress. Sometimes meds work and sometimes don't. Today with stress not one of my better days. Hope for better tomorrow. Young children accept us for what we are and we should learn from them. Could do with a party and especially a few beers. Have a good evening.

By the way, my husband is an Everton supporter, together with my son. My daughter supports Man Utd. I just support everyone else!!

Hi Sue

yes my main symptom is a tremor in my right hand....in fact its the only sympton at moment and my neurosurgeon says it could possibly remain sme for 10 yrs or so.......mine too is worse under stress.

I support Sheffield Wednesday F.C. for my sins.....they lost to Charlton today.....at home....not good....:-(

Enjoy the rest of your weekend

Hi Andy.

My tremor started in my right hand a long time ago, diagnosed abt 6 years ago. It has now gone into my right leg. Was told if I had to have PD was the best type to have. Is there a good type?

At least Everton drew, so I am told.

Another day with more stress.

Have a good day.

Hi Andy,

Having a wonderful weekend with my 2 yr old granddaughter, Sophie. This is my 2nd overnighter with her without Mom and Dad. We are having a great time....she is so much fun! It is so refreshing to see the world through the eyes of a 2 yrs old. Everything is new and exciting to them....helps you forget about your problems. I hope you had an equally good weekend with your 3 little ones!

Hello all, so who amongst us actually wanted S-N-O-W............LOL!!! I"ts 2 weeks too late here in the north east My boyfriend likes to go to one of the casinos in western NY first for a delicious buffet and then while he plays his games I sit at the penny slots and let my tremor have its way. We are both retired and do this maybe once a month.....a diversion that I never allowed myself before he came along. Tomorrow I;ll do the housework /////i didn't do today.

Had 2 dear friends (guys) over for dinner and a movie. Off to sleep now (12:30 here). Headed to farmers market in the morning.

Jill

This week-end gave me the answer to being able to sleep all night!

I slept from 9pm until 7:30am (when my 3yr old granddaughter got in bed with us)?? Only woke up twice to take meds.

The secret to sleep:

*sleep only a few hours the night before (easy enough)

*have an 8yr old (very helpful and responsible), 3yr old, 1 1/2yr old and a 3 month old for 9+ hours

*have dinner ready for everyone when they get home

*IMPORTANT: 1 very helpful grandpa is needed?

Today we are all going to Church and then have dinner/lunch at my daughters. At least 3 of the grandchildren will return home with us, possibly 5 (no school tomorrow). This time 1 mom (my daughter) will return with us.
