Anyone else still trying to navigate the costs and efficacy of Creon and Zenpep? They both cost a fortune-and I have decent (or so I thought) healthcare coverage! And which is better? (And yeah, I know it’s always personal preference-but I’d still like a consensus).

Creon vs. Zenpep
Sorry about the expense. Unfortunately neither drug has a generic equivalent. I have a Medicare Advantage health plan with Scan Health Plans. I have their classic HMO. I paid $85 for 2 bottles of 100 pills of Creon at Walmart, a preferred pharmacy for Scan Health Plans. I'm looking to see if I can cut the costs by getting a mail-in subscription with Walmart or Scan. I believe Creon and Zenpep are about equally effective. They are both made from pigs. By the way, if your EPI stems from your having low stomach acid, you might be able to increase your stomach acid and wean yourself off the meds. Dr. Eric Berg, a chiropractor on YouTube, seems to have some good information. He posted a video on YouTube titled "A Simple Test for Low Stomach Acid" which is pretty good, should you want to check it out. I hope this is helpful.
