Hi Jackie1947, I also have chronic pancreatitis and constant bowel cramps. The GP prescribed "Mebeverine Hydrochloride 135mg" tablets and I think they're marvellous for the muscle spasms that cause the bowel pain. I think this is the only strength available but it really helps. It does seem to take hours to work but if you take them regularly (I have 3 throughout the day) the pain generally stays away unless I am eating things I really shouldn't. The GP couldn't offer much help for the trapped wid but I use "wind settlers" either from "savers" or order from Amazon. I showed them to the GP and he says they're safe to take with all my other meds. Also maybe be extra careful to make sure you are having enough fibre in your diet as that really helps too. Perhaps you could discuss these things with your GP or consultant and see if they think this these options may be a help to you. Good luck in your quest for comfort and pain relief.

I'm already on Membervine 3 daily prior to eating . Will get some for trapped wind. I did look on Tesco web site but they weren't showing. I think my kranky panky and colon are permanently fighting with one another. Seeing the Gastroenterologist 15th Jan for results of part colonoscopy as they had to abandon it due to such awful pain. Might have something associated to rheumatoid arthritis. Good luck to you too

Hi Jackie. I've been ordering wind settlers from Amazon since I fell and smashed my pelvis so badly that I'm permanently disabled. I think my colon and cranky pansy are fighting with one another too. I hope you get on well with your appointment on the 15th of January. I'm going to see my new Cardio consultant on the 15th as the original one who was amazing and lovely retired recently, so I'm hoping the new guy will be good too! I really do hope you get on well cos I know how awful the pain gets, so good luck. I'll be thinking about you on the 15th. You can message me anytime if you fancy a chat or need to let off some steam, so to speak and I hope 2024 will be a much easier and painless year for you. Best wishes, Marion.x
