endoscopy via nose

has anybody had this done?

Today I went to hospital thinking I was having an endoscopy, I was told that the endoscopy was going to measure from my stomach to my nose so that I could come back and have another procedure done,

This would be a tube going up my nose and down into my stomach, the tube from my nose would then be attached to a box that would be round my waist, to check my acid reflux and would have to have it on for 2 days.

He asked if I understood and if it was ok…and I said no I didn’t want it, to be truthful it scared me a bit, it was never explained what would happen before I actually went to hospital.

Has anybody heard of this or had it done.

Hi Diver6 👋 I hope someone here is able to give first-hand experience to help ease your nerves! In the meantime, this webinar might help about testing/imaging for pancreatitis: mission-cure.org/pancreatit...

yes I’ve had it done. Whilst scary, it wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be.

I found the procedure where they push the tube down your throat a lot worse.

I had that done years ago to check my acid reflux as well. Very uncomfortable but worth it. Was diagnosed with severe GERD and hiatal hernia.
