I would like to hear success stories from persons living with chronic pancreatitis!
Let me note: PLEASE, if you had one attack and you have healed, don't write. I would like to hear stories ONLY from people who have chronic pancreatitis.
Please describe that that when have you been diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis. Describe your experience.
What i mean by success story is that you can work, live an active life, you can take your family on trips/vacations..etc.

Hi Brunnerbal111 👋 We have several patient stories on our blog that might interest you. Here's a link if you'd like to check them out! mission-cure.org/care/patie...
Hello! I was diagnosed with Chronic pancreatitis at age 12. It’s hereditary from my dad’s side of the family. I am now 43 years old and living my life as normal as possible. I had 4 major operations in my high school years from 1995-1997. I did great from 1997-2006. I graduated high school and college, was working full time and in 2006 was engaged to my college sweetheart. Unfortunately I caught walking pneumonia in 2006 and was given prednisone. What was left of my pancreas didn’t handle it well and my pancreas stopped producing enough insulin and my blood sugars were in the 500’s so I ended up in the hospital with a flare up and a diagnosis of Type 1 insulin dependent diabetes. Ever since that 4 day hospital stay, I’ve had chronic almost constant pain in my abdomen that always goes through my back. I now have a surgically implanted intrathecal pain pump that gives me a constant micro dose of Dilaudid and a bolus option too for flare ups. I still work full time and my hubby and I are currently foster parents to a 6.5 year old girl and her 4 year old half brother. We don’t go on many trips due to not being able to stay out of state overnight with the kids but when we don’t have kids in home than we do enjoy traveling the US. I have a hobby of making homemade greeting cards and I like to putter around our homestead when the weather cooperates. Feel free to ask me any questions, I’m very open about my health problems.
