I was prescribed Creon not knowing they contained Pork ( I'm allergic to it) and within no time I had a reaction and had to take a antihistamine. Back to drawing board as all of them contain pork. My GP asked my consultant Gastroenterologist what's her advice. I'm still waiting for my urgent first appointment 3 months on but I guess they are very busy. She did say try Pancrex V powder but unlikely make much difference. Vegetarian enzymes sold in health food shops I could try; however they are often very low doses, expensive and lack of evidence. Don't know what to do .

Enzymes
I don't know if you missed my previous comments, but I was on Creon for nearly 30 years until I had a severe allergic reaction. I experimented with many herbal varieties then settled on Source Naturals Essential Enzymes, about 6 a day. Expensive, yes, but they work for me.
I'm doing okay now watching what I eat. I'm glad they work for you and I had information back to me there was no data on them and to save my money. I've learnt to control my food now which comes with milk chocolate 😄
So glad you can manage with diet. Unfortunately that doesn't work for me. Even a biscuit needs enzymes. It's true that there's no information on them. That's because they're not on the NICE list. The NHS only recognizes pancreatin, no alternatives, not for allergy sufferers or even those with vegan or religious objections. Milk chocolate though?
