Hi I am new here and have been moved by everyones experience and advice.

These past two weeks for me have been scary. I found two hard lumps in my armpits, one lump in my right and one in my left which left me worried to the walk in clinic and given a breast exam which they found no further concern and put the lumps down to an infection. To my relief they have gone down since then.

The problem is I have been having symptoms and pains concerning my liver and now pancreas soon after the walk in clinic lump scare. The first being pain in my abdomen and frequent urination. This calmed but then a day later i started to have pains where my liver is which left me to go into the hospital that sunday and was given advice to get an ultrascan as the doctor hoped it was gallstones. The pain in my liver was not severe but just dull ache and sharp pain at times it just feels enlarged so I didn't feel like it is/was gallstones.

The following Tuesday I noticed my urine was alot darker and my stool (sorry for this) was paler which is early signs of jaundice? From what I had read online Cirrhosis was a possible disease and this left me very saddned as I am obese.

I had gone to the doctor on Tuesday for the scan referral i had told the nurse of the stool and urine and she brushed it off as gallstones.

The pain subsided that Saturday I have developed scaly back of hands my palms are quite red but I have now started to have central stomach pain.

I have recently lost a stone in two weeks which is weird but I have changed my diet since the lump scare. I have alot of acid reflux after a small meal followed by bloating and fullness plus a bowel movement which made me question if I had steathorrea (sorry again I am just worried) but it wasn't oily.

All of this has made me question whether my pancreas is cancerous. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow and I want to push for a CT scan and blood works. I have had problems with my bowels for 2 years now which I put to me having anxiety but now I am wondering if I had cancer in the bowels and it has now spread. I am 21 and quite scared they will brush this off again (it happened yesterday as well).

I have seen an enlarged liver is a sign of pancreatic cancer but I am not sure.

I'm just wondering if anyone has had any of these problems and what to ask the doctor. Any advice on this really. Thank you.

I haven't had similar problems and I'm on this site on behalf of my husband. He has just had surgery for pancreatic cancer so I am beginning to learn about it. I think you should press for a CT or MRI scan. Also there is a specific cancer marker test for pancreatic cancer, CA 19-9. He can hardly refuse. Then if all is clear your mind can be put at rest.

Thank you for your advice. I felt weird asking for a CT scan as the doctor tried to say all of my symptoms were down to diet so I just new asking for a CT scan would of been a definite no. I'll just have to wait fot my ultrascan. Thank you.

My tell tale clue was blood work. I'd ask the doctor to check your lapse, amalse levels in blood and that will give indications as to what bextvsteps you may take. Frankly, you seem like you might be jumping the gun a bit. Get through this and if you can make the lifestyle changes needed to get on a healthy track. Let's see what the Doc says today. Think positive as much ch as you can. I wish you well.

Thank you so much. I went to the doctor on Thursday and told her my symptoms and it was the same old. They are not taking me serious at all and I am just so upset. My ultrascan letter is taking ages to come and I am just trying to stay positive. Thank you for your advice.

Hello, I understand you're concern as I have started to have a few symptoms myself. Is it possible to have blood work done privately? I'm thinking of it if my symptoms persist and doctor does not take it seriously. Does anyone know how much these tests cost? Also I hope you have your tests soon and that you'll find things are not so serious.

Oh thank you. I had a blood test two weeks ago but I am still waiting for an appointment for a scan my symptoms still persists but I'm not as full after I eat. Maybe you should go to another doctor. I went through 3 and none of them took me serious until i saw one doctor who ordered the blood test and samples. Try a second opinion maybe before trying the private option, hopefully it is nothing serious as well. All the best!
