Hi

Sorry for your pain but I had a blog the other day and I was given this web address and find it so true to what I have I will be speaking to my Dr about it next time I see him.

The site is arachnoiditis.co.uk/

Read what it says it might give you some answers etc although please don't think their is a cure but its nice to know that your not the only chronic servere intractable pain patient in the world. Take a look and jion the suupport groupGiven to me by Dogbreeder (Her name is Sue I think)

I have visited the site and checked out a load of information from them and it does make sense.

Take care and kindest regards

Terry

Yes I've had that said by some consultant in a report and at the time I was not online, and could not find anything about it except what was in my dictionary.Since that appeared in a report to me many years ago, Ihave had contradictory explanations from Doctors (very caring one was) but the most recent has mentioned nothing about arachnoiditis.

My pains (just the upper meck and arm's) seems to go right round my arms like a line burning into me, and yes' tettridge" I've been to that site and there is plenty of proof that there are so many conflicting term's around the nervouse sytem and pressures on the nerves can be so bloody painful and such differing pains from time to time can really drive you up the wall, but hey' there are many people worse than me and you tettridge, anyway best wishes to you

Great article, well worth a read, especially those of you who do not know much about Arachnoditis, myself, after reading just part of it, was really very interested in knowing more as it opens your mind to just what is bloody causing so much undiagnosed suffering related to pain.

So I say to you all, please have a read, especially those of you that have an injury to your back that is not resolved. best Alex

Hi,

I too have severe neuropathic pain, in my upper torso and spine. An MRI of my whole spine came back clear. Peripheral nerve damage is often too small to be picked up on an mri (and it rules out other causes). Also neuropathic pain can be due to problems with processing signals which wouldn't show up on an MRI. It's also very difficult to treat. Pain Concern have an interesting article on nerve damage on their (old) website. I'd also recommend The Neuropathy Trust (neurocentre.com) and Patient.co.uk (patient.co.uk/health/neurop....

Hi thanks for the link. I've just sent a request to join. I'm also in 'Neuropathic - Nerve Pain Support Group', 'Postherpetic Neuralgia/Chronic Neuralgia Support Group' and 'Post Herpetic Neuralgia' groups on facebook which have been invaluable.

Some types of problems causing pain and discomfort will not show up on an MRI. A tense muscle applying pressure on a nerve can have all sorts of discomfort effects. The NHS have a habit of doing tests which are great at removing worries about something serious present, but have no understanding how tense muscles in the wrong place can have all sorts of painful side effects.

Have seen a McTimony Chiropractor? Have you seen an Alexander Teacher? These are specialists who use their hands to feel for things that are not right in the body. In comparison to an NHS specialist who reads and looks at test results. Fingers are very good at sensing things on the body which eyes cannot not pick up.

These two specialisms may not get rid of the pain. However they can help reduce it in many cases. I use both.
