I have neuropathy due to Diabetes Type 2 and my doctor prescribed gabapentin 300 MG x2 at bedtime. I don't like the way it makes me feel on a daily basis, so I take when the tingling or leg and foot cramps become uncomfortable. I find taking it before the symptoms get bad helps for me. I also try never to get dehydrated and drink at least 80 Oz of water a day. Hope that helps

Hello, I'm on gabapentin too for neuropathic pain and restless leg syndrome. I was told to take it regularly as it apparently doesn't have an immediate effect on pain, it needs to build up in your system. I found relief started after I had taken it consistently for a few days.
Weirdly it does however have an immediate effect on my rls though.
The side effects have improved over time for me so it might be worth you persisting with it. It might also be worth asking for a lower dose and increasing gradually as this tends to lessen side effects. You could start as low as 100mg 3 times a day and increase from there slowly.
Hope this helps, pain is no fun is it 😕
