Night sweats

I've been on Amitriptyline 50mg for a number of years, for fibro and nerve pain. Dry mouth was always the main side effect. I would get night sweats occasionally. However now it's a daily thing! Has anyone been on Amitriptyline experienced these side effects And been swapped onto Nortriptyline and the side effects settle down?

TIA

sorry to hear about night sweats, makes it harder to get a good nights sleep. The only thing I can say is I have been on nortriptyline for nearly 40 years for chronic pain. I never had night sweats except for when I was going through menopause. I would check with your dr. I hope you feel better.

As Sugaree has mentioned, it might be hormone related. Do you need to see an endocrinologist?

I used Nortriptyline for 13 years and now I use Amytriptyline and only at bedtime. I had worse dry mouth with Nortriptyline.

I advise you to stay hydrated with coconut water or aloe Vera juice. Avoid caffeine and alcohol.
