Doppler test

I have been treated for a leg access which was taking months to heal (probably as I'm taking the steroid Prednisolone for Polymyalgia rheumatica).

I've been prescribed compression socks to wear during the day. A month ago I attended a clinic for the Doppler test. On checking my NHS Health Record I note that the test results are as follows - Left ABPI = 1.23 Right ABPI = 1.24

I cannot find any clear explanation as what these percentages mean and would be most grateful for clarification.

Many thanks

According to NICE guidelines "between 0.8 and 1.3 suggests no evidence of significant arterial disease", so that seems like good news.

Hi Fitzida

If you go on line and type in ABPI you should be able to get what you are looking for. According to your readings you are within the normal range.

Hope this helps
