For your hips work with these two muscles: (I'll do separate posts to include an image)

Gluteus maximus - big ass muscles - put your hands on your buttocks and feel for the muscles tighten under your hands. Work on contracting both left and right muscles. Try various patterns of contraction and see what you can manage i.e. holding a contraction or doing lots of quick contractions. Both sides together or alternating left-right-left right. Move around as you do to find positions where you can maximise your activation of your gluteus maximus.

If you've got a good practitioner then yes, massage will help. I believe so much pain that people experience these days is due to using the wrong muscles and the resulting stresses that puts on the body.

Focusing on the right muscles will make things better long term. Massage will help to relieve spasms and restricted tissues that contribute to the problem, so if it feels right keep doing it.

I use hotwater bottles a lot when bits are sore, other people like cold! Do what feels right for you.

The other muscles to work with are your Base-Line muscles: pelvic floor Base of the body, rectus abdominis the body's central line. All movement should stem from your Base-Line and working from Base-Line allows you to start to feel your state of balance and alignment.

Where to start: baselinehealing.com/techniq...

Think stronger and longer with every in breath.

This image shows how the trapezius, gluteus maximus and rectus femoris are connected to Base-Line pelvic floor and rectus abdominis.

Find these muscles on your body, feel for them activating and move as feels natural aiming for increased balance between left and right sides and your midline getting longer and more in alignment with every breath. It takes time to learn to use your body better!

Rectus femoris

The rectus femoris muscles run down the front of the thigh from hip bone to shin, aligning the hip and knee joints when fully active.

The rectus femoris connective tissues contain the kneecaps, so think of pulling your kneecaps up to activate these muscles.

Feel for the bump at the top of your shin bone just below your knee. This is the bottom of the rectus femoris (or at least the tendon it merges with). Slide you hand up over your kneecap all the way up to your hip bone (the most sticky out bit of your pelvis at the front). This is the full extent of the rectus femoris. Imagine it as a straight line from bottom to top.

The rectus femoris work with the gluteus maximus to stabilise the hip joints and correctly position the legs to the torso.

For your neck, study the trapezius muscles.

Think of them as a blanket of muscle that should be able to move freely. The upper body can store a lot of tension so it takes time to connect with these muscles.

I developed this out of the blue in both upper arms suffered terribly for a couple of weeks and went to doctor who took blood test and diagnosed PMR. Prescribed predesilone and immediate and complete relief .After a couple of months he weaned me of the drugs and disorder gone completely. Forget about natural remedy if you are suffering from PMR the proof is literally if the Preds. relieve the pain immediatly. You must therefore get a blood test .
