Hi, I have just been diagnosed with PMR, I am taking 12.5mg of prednisolone at the moment but it takes 4-5 hrs to kick in is this normal. The pain is unbearable until they take effect.

Hi, I'm sorry that you are suffering so much - PMR can be very painful. As the pred builds up in your system, you should find that you get a more steady effect from it. If that doesn't happen, you should discuss with your GP whether taking it in divided doses might help (or whether they can add in anything else).
I would recommend the PMR group if you're not already a member. Lots of experience and really helpful people who will give you advice and support.
