I don't know what is bad about them, except they are Bl##dy cold to put on.

I used them after spinal surgery on top of a pedicle and they allowed me to sleep at night.

Main drawback is they can only be used for 12 hrs. So you are going to be without relief for half the time.

I found them very effective.

Good luck.

I use them. They work on my back but not on my knees. It very much depends on what is causing your pain I think. Good luck with them

I used Lidocaine patches for around eight years and thought they were brilliant. Unfortunately I had to stop using them as I grew allergic to Lidocaine - use with care and follow the instructions is my tip!

I used the 5% Lidocaine plasters a while ago for PHN following a bout of shingles in January. The pain is on my RH side in the rib cage area front and back and is intense. Nothing seems to work and I have tried many things. The plasters helped mute the pain a bit but as someone has already said, you have to use them 12 hours on and 12 hours off. I needed 2 or 3 of them at a time as the area is large. I used them for maybe a month or so but they irritated my skin too much so I have stopped using them. Hope you find something that works for you.
