Hi, I too have this but I also have Vascular Dementia, when I was told this by specialist at Walton Hospital, he said the treatment amertryptoline , I can’t spell that either lol, and it helps raise pain threshold and relax, I get pain in my temple I get a very painful pain in back of my neck when eating, so I have to stop eating TIL pains gone. Tenderness side oh head. It’s a nasty thing to have.j

Hello I have not had this personally myself, but my late husband did and was prescribed steroids for quite some time to control his pain. Then they were reduced slowly over several months and it did work. Best Wishes

Hi if you go on the PMR site you will get all the information to help you cope with GCA . It is normally treated with high doses of steroids . Hope this helps .

Definitely check out the PMRGCA group. You’ll find many of us who’ve done battle with GCA another name for what you have. I’ve had two bouts of it along with the PMR I’ve had since 2004 and it’s nothing to mess with as I’m sure you’ve probably been told that failing to treat aggressively may result in blindness and stroke.

Best~
