Sounds like you have restless legs syndrome....RLS.

There is a forum here if you would like to go and talk with them?

Hi there, twitching is usually down to nerves as you are in bed relaxing they get going I have same and I take baclofen which as helped but I would see your GP to discuss it

I had RLS for many years. Some time ago, on a different forum, I read that soap in your bed could alleviate the legs jerking/twitching. I tried it. Ever since, I have 2 bars of ordinary soap, in my bed. I rub my feet over them, or just keep feet/foot on them. No more probs. Not an old wives tale. Neither my dr nor vascular surgeon knew what to do about RLS.
