I did, a few years ago. I had splenomegaly too. Uncomfortable, even though I already spend most of my time lying down. :/

Yes! The dr told me there was no such thing as spleen pain and I was making it up! It feels like my back is going to rip open or a balloon is about to burst!

There certainly is such a thing as spleen pain! I spent a panicky night in A&E about 12 years ago with my ex, who was in agony because of an infection in his spleen!

She made me feel like an idiot and several times told me I was fat! This is your pain! Not spleen! Needless to say.....will not go back to this dr EVER!

Jesus. Apparently she's never heard if a littke thing called bedside manner?

Hello Michelle2018. Yes I have EBV and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I know how awful it feels. I am so exhausted all the time. And when my levels are high in my bloodstream, it makes me feel so bad; I feel like I'm dying. I'm not of course. I can write to you some tips, maybe later? I cannot right now gotta fly. I will PM you if you want. I have the swollen lymph nodes, chronic sore throat, fever, body aches, etc. Watch your inflammation, it goes hand in hand and I also have Fibromyalgia, it is a cousin disease to EBV. My mother has fibro as well. EBV first broke out in Lake Tahoe, Nevada and they also think it may be the actual Gulf War Syndrome. My dad has EBV, he is from Germany, are you of European descent? It is more prevalent there than in the USA. If you don't mind Pm'ing me your age and your country and state? I came down sick with EBV at 18 after a trip to Colorado. I am now 32. I had to have my tonsils taken out as well. They said my life depended on it. Do probiotics and check out going Gluten Free, maybe even just for a month to see if you feel better. I also get hives and rashes. Keep ibuprofen on hand for that inflamed feeling and Walmart makes a generic brand of Theraflu-it always helps me feel better. I get the honey lemon. Make sure you get enough B vitamins. I also recommend StressTabs Energy. (Walmart vitamin section) I know the malaise is awful. Your best bets are vitamins and natural remedies, along with stress management and rest. Please take care of yourself! ; )

Hi Michelle 2018

I know it’s a slightly old thread but I’ve just been diagnosed with EVB. I feel dreadful, fatigued and a very painful throat and thyroid.

Symptoms started full blown 2 months ago.

My throat feels like it will never be normal again. Any advise please? Does it get better?

Hi... I see that there isn't a lot of information about EVB, but my husband was dx'ed with EVB at the same time as CLL and the doc finds that interesting. He feels like they are connected and the EVB may have triggered the CLL.
