What's the purpose if the test only recognizes the top part of nerve and not deep in spine?

Have bad Mri's for years, seems to be no solution. Having two nerve conductor can test done. One for upper and the other lower. From what I am reading, your MRI'S may be bad, but the test may turn out negative, because it is probably a lot further in the nerve root, which scares me, because these test are painful and what would be the purpose then.

That's interesting. I was diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome - until I had the (painful) Nerve Conduction Study and this ruled it out! Not all tests are completely true and foolproof it seems.
