I have been on 20 mg of citalopram for about 4 months. I usually take it around 9:30 every morning. Today i didn't take it until 12. Tonight i went to take an ibuprofin and accidently took my citalopram. There was a good 12 hours between doses. I am worried. What do i need to do and is there anything i should be worried about?

Nothing to worry about. Citalopram is one that if you miss you can take asap then carry on with your normal regime as long as you don't take a double dose at once.still if you feel any side effects call your Dr

I too take citalopram and have done similar to you.

It is perfectly safe even more so as you are not on the highest dose.

No, you shouldn't have any probs at all. Many people take Citalopram 40mg. So, rest easy. You may be a little drowsy or loopy from the unexpected increase but that's to be expected. Hope this helps hon.
