Hi just wanting information off anybody, I've suffered with a jaw disorder for 4 years and as now got very painful , I was on the versatis patches which has helped a lot , but my specialist at the hospital has retired but told my doctor to prescribe them for me, for the last six weeks I have been without them as my doctor says he can't prescribe them as they are a code red drug, but I have seen many people on here who use them and get them through there doctor, has enyone else found it hard to get them prescribed.

Hi , I too have got temporal mandibular jaw and it often gets locked when I yawn or eat certain foods. I use vertasis patches for other pain sites and was unaware that they were a code red drug? I have not heard that term before tbh, I take mst which is a controlled drug, but I thought versatis was just a medicated plaster with a local anaesthetic in them............I am probably on about something else lol..........I too find it really easy to obtain off the doctor..........good luck and keep on trying, it seems we have to self diagnose ourselves and ask for what we want.

Hi, thanks for the reply, I thought the versatis patches was prescribed by other doctors but have been back today and still won't prescribe them even though my specialist has given them permission to do so they still won't , feel like I'm hitting my head against a brick wall , hopefully I will get it sorted soon

Hi, can't the specialist prescribe them for you? Maybe it is something to do with where you live and the NHS trust you come under. Are you in the UK?

Hi, my specialist retired in march and there has been a problem in which hospitals are taking on his patients, so just waiting to find out what's happening with that . I live in the U.K.
