Has anyone out there had stem cell treatment on worn out knee cartilage?
I am considering going to USA for consultation/treatment as they appear far in advance of UK in the use of stem cell in knee joints.
If anyone has had this treatment I would like to hear your views.
Many thanks

Hi Lorento,
I think my son in Australia might have had this done or something similar. He is a police officer and was involved in an arrest that went seriously wrong. He sustained injuries to his knee. I know his cartilage was removed and I know he received an implant. (The implant was not of the titanium/plastic type as one would have with a knee joint replacement). From memory now he was off work for the best part of a year gradually returning to duties slowly until he was fully fit and he is now still on active duty as a police officer.
I have A friend who opted for Stem Cell treatment on her knees and sings high praises although it's early days she is doing very well when she was supposed to have very invasive surgery.....she is not out of pain completely but certainly very much better than before ....good luck .....I am living walking talking proof of the problems that come with very invasive spinal surgery.....lifetime of pain .....I would be very interested in how you go and hope to see you on here and hear you go well....my dr is referring me for Stem Cell Therapy in the next yr or so here in Western Australia 😄😄
Please keep us posted if you go ahead. I'm still holding out hope for stem cell therapy for spinal disc degeneration. I believe they also do this in the US but my consultant here in uk says they can get the cells into the discs easily enough but they just fall out before they can repopulate the disc. But discs have poor blood supply unlike knees so it's all super interesting! 😜
