Just wondering if anyone else has this problem. I have had lower back pain for the past 3 years due to joint hypermobility syndrome, it affects my other joints as well but my lower back is the most debilitating. However, since last August I can't lean against my spine at all when sitting, if I do the pain just gets worse and worse. When I lie down my spine feels like I am lying on a metal rod, but it is not too painful when lying. I just wondered if anyone else has this problem and what is causing it? I also have osteoporosis.

I think you have answered your own question - osteoporosis can be very painful, and so can hypermobility syndrome. Are you under the care of a rheumatologist? If not, then definitely ask to be referred for a review.
