Pudental Neuralgia!

It is 1am In the USA and I am going crazy with nerve pain in rectal-anal site! I can't stand it anymore! It is 24/7 now! I have been everywhere and am on a ton of meds and nothing even touches it. There is burning like a blow torch, throbbing, aching, swelling. I know there is no cure! It makes me hopeless.

I have neither the financial or physical means to go to France! I just don't know how to live with this. It puts me in bed for days and days till maybe nerve quiets down. The flair up's use to be much less but the nerve has gotten worse so flair up's are chronic now! Please pray for me that I find some relief and that I don't give up!!! Thanks!

I feel sooo sorry for you as I have experience this several times but never new the cause and it always went away within a couple of hours. I didn't know that there was a cure for it I don't know what I would do if it ever got worse. I will keep you in my prayers and I am here for you anything you need to talk. I have Fibromyalgia which is constant muscular pain with no cure. I'm also in the US I'm in Texas were are you?

Hi Trish, sorry to hear you are in such terrible pain. I don't know if it's the same condition or if you've heard of the book, 'Teach us to sit still ' by Tim Park but he suffered from a terrible pain in his groin. Had every test etc... No one could do anything for him but he eventually found a kind of peace. The book is a great read if nothing else to try to distract you from the worst of the pain. I think he found relief from specific shiatsu massage which relived the nerve irritation. Mainly, he looked to meditation tho. Wishing you the best.

I'm so sorry you are in such a lot of pain and you can be sure I will pray for you. I wonder if you have researched if LDN (low dose naltrexone) might help you? I have also found that Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and the Release Technique have a lot to offer in dealing with pain and can be self administered once you have learned the basic technique. Take a look at Brad Yates site on U-Tube. He has lots of EFT videos to follow along with, including one called Healing From The Inside Out, which sounds like it could be helpful for you. In addition to that, an ice pack applied to the local area can sometimes help with such pains and burning sensations. If you are open to it, a hypnotist might also be able to help you learn self hypnosis for pain relief. If I have any other suggestions I will get back to you. Wishing you all the best on your healing journey.

Sweetheart, see if they will do an MRI, men can get this pain from a bulging disk...so you may have that which is pressing against a nerve causing you this horrific pain. I'm praying you find out what's going on and get the help you need from your suffering!!! xxx Mitzi

I have had MRI, I know what the problem is, I have pudenal neuralgia, an entrapped nerve in my anal-rectal area. Rarely any Doctors in USA are familiar with it, that's why you have to go to France. Mine has now become chronic become nerve gets worse and worse without removing the entrapment. I can barely sit anymore even with donut pillow and ice pack! Have many meds that do not touch it or I have side effects from meds! I just pray these last three years for a miracle. On top of this I have a spinal cord injury. My hope is always in God! I know it cannot be cured, just pray for relief!!

Thanks for your input everyone!!! Bless you!!!!

Hugs, trishj46
