has anyone been on a pain management course and what did you think of it? any help would be appreciated
I thought it was good. Very helpful for those on the group who had little knowledge about how pain works and how it affects your thinking. Exercise and relaxation techniques helpful too. Drug information very enlightening ie, for chronic pain its not worth taking. A few of my group members found it life changing, including those who had been literally crawling round the floor when it started.
I think everyone with Chronic Pain should undertake one of these.
I have been offered this by my GP but wasn't sure so thanks for your answer I will go along to it and hope it helps thanks again
I too had a positive experience. But the course i attended was about learning to live with pain rather than managing it away. Good tips and nice to touch base with others and swap stories. It helped me get my head round chronic pain and started me along the journey toward acceptance. Still travelling it. I am still doing the exercises now. Which I have had reason to thank The Lord for recently. Had I not I would be up the swanny so to speak. It has meant I have a bit of accumulated strength to draw on.
Good luck.
I am on one at the moment and it great help, gives you tips on how to cope with pain, how to change things to make life easier, diet tips, relaxation, gentle exercise, stress, and when your in the group its great to know your not alone it also helps you to accept what your given and ways to deal with bad days
